After a long and tiresome effort, Scholar Oak was able sell to a lucrative market to gain a grand total of 853,000 Gold! This number far exceeds the 500,000 Gold demanded by the Frost Queen to open the library. As a reward, Scholar Oak and his colleagues Ash and Misty have used the extra gold to further their own research and now invite everyone to assist them. Of course, there will be rewards!
Since the before the discovery of Aegis, the 3 scholars have been searching far and wide for information about the many monsters that terrorize the lands of Argyll. The monsters have grown in strength since then, making it impossible for the scholars to complete their research alone. That's where you come in! Neo and I are proud to introduce..
Starting today, every single mob in the Quest World will have a chance to drop a Monster Index. These indexes come in two editions, classic and shiny. The scholars search for specific sets of these indexes to collect more information about them (for example, sewer spider, skeleton, and zombie is one such set). Shiny indexes are obviously rarer than classic indexes and can only be turned in with other shiny indexes, making their collections much more difficult to obtain.
The scholars do not intend to leave you without reward. Completing and turning in a collection to the appropriate scholar unlocks a special perk that you may equip through /collections. For classic index collections, this is a simple boost in various attributes, while for shiny collections, there may be a significant boost in attributes or a special bonus ability such as being able to deal bonus damage against enemies with over 500 health or reducing your damage taken when below 50% health.
You may only equip 1 classic perk and 1 shiny perk at a time, so you should choose to equip the perks that best fit your playstyle. Additionally, a select few particularly difficult collections, once unlocked, will be permanently equipped, allowing you to be permanently stronger while still equipping additional perks.
That's all! We wish all brave adventures the best of luck searching for monster indexes!
