Hey guys, Neo here
You haven't heard from us for a bit, but I assure you that work is being done all around! In fact, this Friday we are releasing one of our latest of 3 big updates coming up, developed by our very own Matt5067, Shanachan, and EternalVigilante!
Important Recipe Information:
You can now exchange all paper copies of recipes at /spawn for 50g each. This will be availible up until the day of the release. Mobs have stopped dropping recipes for now, and you can no longer exchange the recipes for permission (putting a paper recipe in a crafting menu will not do anything). Everyone's recipe permissions (EXCEPT INGREDIENTS) have been removed. Please also remember that all current recipes (recipes already made) will NOT work when the update is released. Thank you for your understanding.
Friday's Update 9-29-17 (Matt5067):
On Friday, at 11 AM PST, we will be releasing our rank rework. It's not quite a rework, as the majority of the updates done are under the hood that help us with maintaining your ranks. When you log on, you will be asked to use the /fixrank command. This will adjust your rank to the new ranking system. If you're Noble or below, that's all it is. However, at the same time, this rework will greatly affect our richer denizens of the server.
For one, there will be a new rank between the Lord and Noble rank costing 600,000 gold, called Sir/Dame. Those who are currently ranked Lord will be demoted to this rank (and refunded 400,000 gold). Angry? Worry not. Because this is about to seriously change your game. Sir/Dame will have access to a full farmer's market in which you will be able to sell EVERY type of plant. You read that correctly. We fully expect players that reach this rank to get an enormous boost in their income.
With this rank, all the other ranks that were formerly all but impossible to reach (*cough* King) now become very possible with a little bit of industry. Of course, the higher ranks have been updated to be more appealing as well, but we'll leave those as a surprise for when they're unlocked! On top of that, any sort of financial issues you had with Towny will be a thing of the past. You will be able to fund projects and claim land like never before. You will truly reach the end game. Though once tier 3 comes out, you'll find the end game drifting further yet again... But at least you'll be rich!
Update #2, Recipe Rework (Shanachan):
While Matt was working diligently on the rank rework, Shanachan set himself on our outdated recipe system. Currently, they only have a few niche uses like some bonus speed or health while exploring the wilderness. But no longer.
Post rework recipes will now contain effects such as instant health, instant mana, health/mana over time, and bonus attributes along with their previous potion effects. Along with that, a minimum of 8 new recipes have been released for every single tier! There is one downside to this. Because all the recipes have been migrated to an easier system to use, all of your old recipes will no longer be learned. You will only retain any ingredients that you've learned. However, because all of the recipes will have brand new effects that will become crucial in the quests world, we believe this is a fair compromise!
This recipe rework is currently underway and is expected to take approximately 2 weeks to complete, though it could take up to 2 months. Look forward to it!
Update #3, Item Tier Rework (EternalVigilante):
While Shana was making some delicious food, EternalVigilante set himself hard at work to finally fine-tuning our item drops in the quests world. As it is now, Epic items are basically the same or even better than legendary items, and the way attributes are generated, a single line of lore can be the difference between trash and god-like weaponry and armor. But this is now a thing of the past.
Post Item Rework drops will instead have a range of numbers in which attributes are randomly generated, and 2 new tiers will be added: Angelic and Mythic (Angelic as a tribute to one of our top donators, Angelarm!). On top of this, wands will be updated to become hoes and will now have DURABILITY, meaning they can be fixed with /repair! They can also be enchanted with unbreaking in the same way swords and bows can be to lessen durability loss!
Legendary will now be truly legendary, as the tier list will now be: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Unique, Epic, Mythic, Angelic, Legendary. Through a long series of trial and error, EternalVigilante has helped to stabilize the sets of stats for each tier, and has also created custom prefixes for each tier! No more Qacid touch items! The one downside is that we will not be updating the current wands to the new system. Old wands will be left on the old breaking system to fizzle out on their own.
This recipe rework is currently underway and is expected to take approximately a month to complete, though it could take up to 2 months. Look forward to that as well!
Update #4, Not Tier 3! (Sorry guys):
Yes, tier 3 is indeed taking a long time, so long that I'm back in college. But I promise I'm diligently working on it day by day and hope to show some results soon! However, I've come in contact with the developer of the plugin and floated my own suggestions to him and he's taken them into account (one of them actually being the wand durability thing). Soon, I'll have a small quality of life change for all of you guys:
You will be able to see the exp required to level up in the lord board. Also, your class will show up below your name next to your health. Also, double exp events have been made possible, so I'll definitely be doing that for the release of Tier 3. On top of these major changes, a way to control hunger loss has been added, so I'll definitely be messing with that to see what works, so that people don't need to bring stacks of steak to battle any longer.
There's a ton more stuff added, but the rest I'll be saving for later to show you when tier 3 is released. I hope to release tier 3 by winter break, but every time I've set a goal for myself I've failed to reach it. We'll have to see how it goes! :(
I hope you're all as excited as I am for these upcoming updates. Thank you all for your continued support, despite the lack of updates lately! We as staff appreciate it!
